I'm new to DemandTools at my company but my former coworker expressed difficulty when trying to migrate to DTV from our current version of DemandTools when he attempted to do so about a year ago now. I've seen the new product, it certainly looks like the best option going forward, but I wanted to see if any of the following needs will be, or have been, addressed since he attempted to move over? I'd also like to know what my options are for a formal training on the product, thanks in advance!

Inability to look more than two Salesforce field levels deep
Unable to export content versions of an object
Ability to select custom fields between a dedupe set

Love DemandTools, been using it for 10+ years now.

I am curious to see what the future direction holds for DemandTools at Validity, as there are competing solutions that exist in the cloud which can perform similar tasks.

All this to say I love DemandTools and don't expect to move away from it.

1) Is there any plan to have the match tool stop matching after a match is found on the first match step so that we do not end up with so many results to parce, this feature was available in DT2?

2) Will our log files of a successful import ever include every column from our original request sheet even for the columns that were not part of the mapped dataset?

3) Will you offer sort-by and filter functionality on the preview columns for data import or match in the future?

We are in the process of migrating to Salesforce from another CRM. In inserting/upserting data, we've had instances of special characters not being translated into Salesforce correctly despite having the UTF-8 checkbox checked off when upserting/inserting records. Is there a way to make sure all records get converted properly? We did confirm that this isn't an issue with Salesforce recognizing the characters; we were able to cut and paste directly from our old system into Salesforce and it came in fine. We did use Excel for the data extract for our old system. Any tips to follow?

When matching, I noticed that the original data columns are not in the same order from top of column to bottom. Example: ABC co, LMN Inc and XYZ Corp. These come back in a different order. This forces the copy/paste of all data back to the original sheet vs just a single column or two of the found data points. This is important when doing multiple matches on the same data across different objects. Sorry for the odd question. Just something that I wanted to understand so I can better anticipate the results or change my process to accommodate.

I saw at TDX that there is now the ability to build/clean scenarios between more than one table. I can see how that is really helpful with Accounts and Contacts, are there other use cases that clients are leveraging that I should consider?

Previously there was an issue where a SF Contact merge allowed the winning record to be someone that was not the Portal User (SF only enforces for Partner Portal, not Community Portal). I've heard that there is now a field to flag in Validity for this when deciding merge criteria and winning records. What is the field called and are there any other enhancements like this I should be aware of?

In the old version of DemandTools there is a ReportEdit feature where I can, in mass, delete reports that have not been run in a long time. Is this feature available in the new version of DemandTools and if so, where? I can't seem to find it.

Is there a way to convert only leads that fail to meet matching criteria? (i.e. possible matches remain leads and are marked for someone on staff to look at but those who don't match name or email in the system are converted)

What module are you referencing? What file are you noticing data in a different order? The audit file? An exported grid? I'm looking forward to hearing back so we can ensure we are providing you with the most accurate response.

I am using the match module on the SFDC objects of leads, accounts or contacts. The export file is not in the same order as the input file. Columns are in order but the rows are not. This can be taken offline if we need specific examples vs addressing in the webcast.

Thanks so much for offering this event! Is there, or will there be, a possibility to use Demand Tools to change information on multiple objects similar to how we can use reports with multiple objects? I oftentimes create or use a random field on one object to distinguish the data set that I'd like to use to manipulate data for another object. Reports is fine for a handful of changes, but if I plan to make global changes I always look to Demand Tools. I realize I can download the information, alter it, and re-upload it using Demand Tools, but I just wanted to see what options are available for doing this within the DT platform.

@ebpoplin Thanks for the question. It sounds like this would be possible in DemandTools V as it has the ability to look up to 5 hiearchy levels deep; however, I need to know a bit more about your use case to provide you with the best possible solution. What objects are you intending to update? Are you looking to update fields within each object simutaneously? Have the records that need updated already been identified? Once I receive your response, I'll continue investigating and testing on my end ahead of the Ask Me Anything session. I'm looking forward to hearing back.
