Add a setting to enable allowSave duplicateRuleHeader

It would be helpful to have a setting we can enable that will make it possible to import or update records that would otherwise fail duplicate rules that have an Allow:Alert setting. This can be handled by the duplicateRuleHeader: https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.api_rest.meta/api_rest/headers_duplicaterules.htm

Hello @bkeanncoa , thank you for letting our team know about how to improve DemandTools! I'll forward this to our product team but in the meantime here's an article on how to request a feature in DemandTools.

Have a great week,

Manuel

Hey @bkeanncoa - Curious, and perhaps I'm not fully understanding the use case, but could you not setup the same duplicate criteria as part of an Upsert process to accomplish this goal?

@Pugs_Validity we use a lot of duplicate rules across many objects for different reasons. Sometimes we only want the user to know that they may be creating a duplicate and to double check their accuracy. Currently, if a user is using demandtools to import data we have to modify the duplicate rule criteria to allow them to import the data and then modify it again to turn the duplicate rule back on for them. If this could just be toggled with a setting in demandtools to proceed when allow:alert is configured, it makes it easier to administer.

@bkeanncoa - Have you looked at Dupeblocker? It's included in every DemandTools subscription and you can setup dupe blocking for certain user groups and also allow users to have the option to bypass a block. Unclear if that may solve your issue ultimately but sounds like it would be worth exploring. Feel free to shoot us an email to DemandToolsCOE@validity.com if you'd like to discuss in greater depth.
