Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your role in the Community?
I have been in the Salesforce Community since 2007. I hold three Salesforce certs and I'm working towards my Demand Tools cert as well. I also have recently been writing a few blog posts for Validity.com.
How long have you been using DemandTools, and what initially drew you to it?
I have been using Demand Tools since about 2010. I was at Dreamforce back then, probably 2008 or 09. One of the goals for Dreamforce was to find out more about data quality. Every time someone asked about the best tool for data quality, Demand Tools was the first name that came up.
How does DemandTools help you be successful at what you do or what challenges does it help you overcome?
Lately, I have been dealing with a lot of data quality issues/initiatives. This has saved me an untold number of hours when trying to get these initiatives done.
What features of DemandTools do you use the most, and why?
I use probably Dedupe, Assess, and Match the most. I find Assess most helpful because it helps keep an eye on various data quality issues.
For someone who is new to DemandTools, what advice would you give to get started and make the most of it?
Run the assess module to see where you are. Next, take a look at where your "problems" are and work on coming up with a maintenance list of items to address so that the next time you run Assess, your numbers look better. Lastly, this data quality thing is an ongoing "battle" but keep up the good fight!
What do you love the most about the Validity Community?
I would say the community aspect of it. Everyone is happy to jump in and help. It's a great way to get help quickly!
