Which is correct path to update 1 field on User record: Modify or Import or Tune?

Hi there - I need to do something I thought would be simple. I need to update data in a single field on existing User records. I have file ready, with columns with User ID and field that needs the data change and the column holds the "new" data that needs to be swapped in, and some other columns for reference.

So which is correct process to leverage?
1. Import - because I'll be "importing" new data onto existing records ?
2. Modify - because I'll be updating (aka modify) data on existing records?
3. Tune - which is new to me and seems to be focused on altering (updating/modifying) data on existing records.

Note: Video on Modify mentions ability to UPDATE data on existing records but then drifts off into the Insert new records path. Never see full start to finish, clean selections to follow to update (replace) data in a field on an existing record.  Any help appreciated. As prior DT user before V5, still working to get up to speed on new DT.

Hey @LizK - Since you are using a file, we'll want to use Import. Go into Import -> Load the Import File -> Select the Update operation -> Select Key Field as your method -> Select User as your object.

From here, you'll see Import File headers listed on the left -> Map the ID column from your spreadsheet to the User ID target Salesforce fied -> Select the blue key to turn it gold --> Map the additional field that you'd like to update and ensure the Always Update bubble is selected.

From there, preview results and execute if all looks well!

THANK you!  I totally missed the "Select the blue key to turn it gold" step and that's why I couldn't seem to get further along. Now vetting it out all the way but this has definitely helped me turn the corner. LizK
