Is it possible to prevent the creation of a Salesforce contact record when converting a lead record? I do not want any lead records to prevent from being created but when converting the lead, I would like DupeBlocker to prevent the creation of a new contact record if the conditions in a matching scenario are met.

@warf_admin - If I am understanding correctly, you want to catch new Contacts that match to an existing Lead but not a new Lead that matches to an exisiting Contact, is that correct?

I would like to prevent leads from converting into new contact records if the scenario conditions are matched.
For example, I have a lead record in Salesforce with an email address of test@test.org and I have a contact record with an email address of test@test.org, if a user attempts to create a new contact when converting the lead, I would like that action to be blocked.

Hey @warf_admin - Understood. The reason I asked is Dupeblocker can assist with new Lead-Contact creation matching and it works backwards as well with Contact-Lead matching when a new record in created. For the purposes of converting current Leads into existing matching Contacts, this is what the Convert module is used for in DTV. This module is unfortunately not available in DTE.

Thank you for your response. Might Dupeblocker consider adding this functionality into DTE? It would be extremely useful for this functionality to be built into DTE where our Salesforce users can leverage the feature while converting leads.

@warf_admin - Since we are discussing current lead records in your Salesforce, this would be more applicable to DemandTools than Dupeblocker. Dupeblocker is designed only to stop new incoming record information from entering your system as a duplicate. If Lead conversion is something you'd like to see implemented into DTE, I'd strongly encourage you to add a DTE feature request as our product team looks at requests regularly to build out product road maps.

Sure thing. Can you point me to where feature requests can be sumbitted?

@warf_admin - Apologies, looks like my picture of how to do that did not post! Go to the Gear Icon in the top right of your DTE Home Screen and select Request a Feature.
