Unable to Merge Contacts related to Cadence

When attempting to merge a contact related to a cadence I'm getting the following error -

We can't merge these contact records because at least one of the duplicates being deleted is assigned to a cadence. Remove those records from the cadence and try again.

I've attempted trying to see if I could find a Reparented Merge with ActionCadenceTracker.TargetId and ActionPlan.TargetId without any immediate success.

There is an known issue with merging contacts related to cadences -
Idea: Allow merge on records attached to Sales Cadences

Please let me know if there are any workarounds to this issue.

I did find that I could delete the related contacts from "ActionCadenceTracker" to complete a merge.  In this case, the cadence's were no longer used, and I moved all the related contacts to a campaign list for tracking, and then deleted them from the cadence tracker.  So, this works if the cadence's are actually being used.


Hey @michael-wtds - Interesting one. Not terribly familiar with Sales Cadences within Salesforce so will need to do my homework. The method you are describing as a fix is similar to the workaround we typically instill for roadblock objects such as that. I'll follow up if I find perhaps a more streamlined method!
